2025 IREAD Scores

2025 IREAD Scores

The MSD of Wabash County students' performance on the IREAD assessment last year was absolutely amazing, and these results are a powerful testament to our district's commitment to literacy. This success stems from the collaborative efforts of our paraprofessionals, teachers, administrators, and families, who work together to support our students’ reading development. The results highlight the power of our whole community’s approach to education.

As a district, we have made significant investments to support literacy instruction and outcomes.

• Professional Development: Our teachers participated in high-quality professional development focused on the Science of Reading.

• Curriculum and Materials: We also invested in reading curriculum and supplementary materials. By providing these resources, our teachers spend more time teaching and less time creating or gathering materials on their own.

While we celebrate this great achievement, we remain committed to continuous growth. Our next steps focus on strengthening our literacy instruction across all grade levels:

• Early Literacy Materials: We are currently exploring and evaluating new materials for grades K-2 to ensure our earliest learners have access to the most effective resources available.

• Secondary ELA Curriculum: The district will also begin a comprehensive review of English Language Arts (ELA) materials for grades 6-12 during the upcoming school year. This process will help us develop a rigorous literacy curriculum that spans from kindergarten through graduation.

We believe that our continued investment in intentional professional development and high-quality literacy resources will support our educators and, in turn, help our students succeed.
