2021 Northfield Valedictorian and Salutatorian Announced
Valedictorian Lyndsey Carter
Miss Lyndsey Carter is the 2021 Northfield Valedictorian. She is the daughter of Richard and Kathryn Carter. While in high school, Lyndsey has been involved in the National Honor Society, along with Treble and A Cappella choirs. She is also a four-year member of the Northfield Tennis team.
This past year she was also involved in Key Club activities and helped the drama department with their spring play. Lyndsey attends New Life Baptist Church where she actively serves in the nursery ministry.
Over her high school career, Lyndsey has won several class awards and medals for English, science, math, and physical education. One in particular that stands out to her is the award for overall science student for Chemistry and Physics this past year. She has also earned gold and silver ratings in the District Solo and Ensemble choir competitions.
In the fall, Lyndsey plans to attend Indiana University Kokomo to major in Psychology. After that, she hopes to obtain her master's degree to become a Clinical Psychologist. It is her desire to help others. She feels her calling is to enable people who are struggling to overcome their issues and inspire them to reach their fullest potential. Lyndsey is very honored to represent the Class of 2021 as Northfield's Valedictorian.
Salutatorian Elise Gottschalk
Miss Elise Gottschalk is the 2021 Northfield Salutatorian. She is the daughter of Brian and Stephanie Gottschalk. During her time at Northfield, she participated in four years of varsity volleyball and two years of varsity softball. She was involved in Campus Life, Student Council, and National Honor Society,
This past winter she volunteered at the COVID vaccine clinic in Wabash. She has also helped coach younger volleyball players through the Norse Volleyball Club. Elise has been in 4-H for seven years and was named the 2020 2nd Runner-Up in the 4-H Queen Pageant.
Elise earned many accomplishments during her high school career in both academics and athletics. She was the 2020 Most Improved Player in volleyball, along with the Mental Attitude award for volleyball and softball. Elise was named a Three Rivers Conference Scholar-Athlete. She also earned awards for being the top student in math, anatomy, and Spanish.
Next fall Elise plans to attend Purdue University to study nursing.
