The chart shows the passing rates for the ILEARN tests given in the spring of 2022.

MSDWC’s focus remains on individual student growth and achievement. While our ILEARN scores are above the state average, this is an area where we expect to see improvement.

ILEARN replaced ISTEP in 2019 and raised student requirements. Some say it created a stricter focus on assessing skills required to be successful in college. The testing change saw average passing scores across the state of roughly 50% in 2018 drop to below 30% in 2021.

The MSDWC scores do not include White's Jr/Sr High School. This data was collected from the Indiana Department of Education. ILEARN and ISTEP scores from across the state are viewable here.

Our goal at MSDWC is to ensure students whose path includes college are successful. 

Students are considered successful in their early college years if they...

1. Did not need to take remedial classes in college

2. Stayed in college for their second year

3. Earned all credits attempted

One key aspect of student success in college is their grade point average (GPA). These charts graph the GPA high school graduates earn during their freshman year of college.

The first graph shows the percentages of graduates who earned a GPA between an A- to A+ letter grade their freshman year. Use the arrow to move over to the next graph, which shows the percentage of college attendees from that high school who received a freshman GPA between a B to B+ letter grade.

Overall, over 65% of MSDWC graduates earn a B to A+ GPA their freshman year in college.

This chart shows the balance in the school district's Operations Fund as of December 31, 2022.  The Education Fund covers all Instructional, Academic Achievement, and Student Support. Expenditures for the district, including salaries and benefits of staff in those categories. Its primary source of revenue comes from State Tuition Support based on district enrollment.

Strong Fund balances considers the ability of the school corporation to maintain operations in the event of delays or decreases in revenue, or increases in expenses by utilizing existing fund balances to fund operations.

The Operations Fund covers all Capital Projects, Transportation, Bus Replacement, Maintenance, Central Office, and other Overhead Expenditures for the district, including salaries and benefits of staff in those categories. It also includes insurance and utility costs. Its primary source of revenue comes from Local Property Taxes.
